Rinaldi Review Brian: Track 2 Opens like Ich Chub Dir Tzu fil Leib or Mine Veisse Blum. It's a heart wrencher. The strings play early with the percussion and then we dance away with our noses up. We know better. Then our heart aches. We have second thoughts. We want to come back to each other. Okay, I'll give you another chance. That sounds good. It's a deal. So much to learn about each other. Let's keep the momentum going. Isn't this fun??? I like it!! Let's never stop. It's going fast but I love it. Into the fraylacher sunset. Track 3 Everybody's preparing for the event!!! This intro is terrific. Violin drags you in. The drums carry the ha ha ha. The violin warns of something and the drums help bring it in. What is it? A boring singer. The band even gets boring to accompany him. A nice voice...we're more excited than he is. He could put us to sleep. No, let's enjoy. As soon as he stops singing the band does it's magic again. Drag me in...let's go... Come on let's dance. Hey hey hey....So much fun. Pull me pull me...that's right...into the center, out again....this is great!!! the other way, turn, kick turn kick turn go go go......This is Jewish travelin' music. SIGH...here he is again....vey izz mir. Mommy why is that man crying? He's okay now, sort of. I loved this sound. The singer was not great. Maybe at a faster tempo. Track 5 Perfect start. All together now. PERFECT...Solid. HA HA HA great. Drumming straight ahead and timed perfectly. You laugh with it. Your drumming is immaculate. This is music to work by and dance by and even type by!! Track 6 Great hand drum intro...again takes you places (YA YA YA --YA YA YA) and then your head drops. Sounds a little like Miserlou. As your head lifts up again bopping gently. The middle east meets Peter Gunn. Movie theme quality. A guy's trying to figure something out. He's studying everything. Your drums tell a story here too. GREAT progressions. Great Changes. Smooth and deliberate. Track 7 A drum lover's dream. Marching band, new age, progressions great. percussion play is fun. Fast drumming is fabulous. What an intro. How innovative. Kicks ass. Then of course, you cry. Vuh Denn? The violin makes you sigh and breathe. Then it takes you for a walk, a stroll. Soulful. Stop to dance and sway. You're right doll each instrument is a spirit. Then the spirits dance around with each other. Again, there are no words but it speaks. . Piano solo is magnificent. Track 8 Kozatsky a little CAN CAN.., hey, hey. I see them with their baggy pants, boots and gypsy blouses. I can even see the goats in the distance across the green fields. I can smell the lamb. Great clarinet solo, the drum is always there to guide it. Hutza tza and more hey hey. GREAT!!! No thinking with this one...just moving and mugging. This is for the happiness of the people. For the folk...no deep thought...Just let's enjoy this. Violin Fabulous. You're just too good. It doesn't get any better. Track 9 Very good. Israeli. Good sing a long. Track 10 Good voice opener. Authentic and soothing voice. Sounds like it should. Haymishe and comfortable sound. Yuk chuck chuck , 1 2 3, with taste. Nice yiddishe tamm! Track 11 Push pull tantzy tantzy. Bluegrass fraylach. Barnyard laughter. Fiddler sound comes in. A little Yerushalayim is detected. Then a little carnival, merry-go-round. Review by Linda Rinaldi, Music Agent, Los Angeles, California |
