Kol Haruach Klezmer Band - Hurrican Katrina Concert

I would like to announce something that I was not sure would happen. Like all of you, after hearing about Katrina, I began to ponder what I could do to help. I am in a unique position because I have a band and therefore am in the public eye a bit more than most. I started talking with people in the community to determine the interest in some type of event, and brought it up with Berman Events, the band's agent. I wanted to do something big; something that everyone could get involved with. So, with a lot of help from Berman and support from many other people, this is what we came up with.

Kol Haruach Klezmer Band, Berman Events and Tikvat Israel Congregation are pleased to announce that the concert to benefit victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was a rousing sucess.

We are grateful to have been joined in our venture by Entertainment Connection, Mishkan Torah Synagogue, Washington Jewish Week, Entertainment Lighting Services, TCCI Web & Graphic Design, AM Radio WUST, Jewish Community Radio host Estelle Abraham of AM 1120 (Sundays 9:30 am on the AM dial), and WETA Radio.

We wanted to figure out a way for the community to come together as a whole and work together to make a difference. All of our supporters donated their services, allowing us to give 100% of the proceeds from tickets sales to programs earmarked for victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita through three charities: Mazon, Habitat For Humanity, and America's Second Harvest.

To those who were there, thank you for joining us! Your attendance helped us help so many in need.

100% of all proceeds generated went to the following three charities:
